Copper Clad Steel, also known as copper covered steel or by its acronym CCS, is a composite conductor material containing a carbon steel core surrounded by copper. The copper provides the electrical conductivity and the steel contributes strength to the conductor. The regular grade of conductivity includes 21%IACS, 30%IACS and 40%IACS. Copper Clad Steel Wire widely used to drop wire, coaxial cable, grounding wire, automotive cable, blasting cable and tracer wire. CCS is available to be bare or plated with silver, nickel or tin.
We have two different technologies to produce CCS wire, copper-plating and copper cladding. Finest diameter we can make 0.06mm, and biggest diameter at 16mm. Low strength, high strength and extra high strength are available.
